Press Release
CAS Software among the best employers in the SME sector
Working at CAS Software is a pleasure
Karlsruhe/Germany, 26th January 2008. CAS Software AG is one of the 100 best employers among Germany's small
and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) according to the results of the latest
Top Job survey, a nationwide, cross-sectoral corporate benchmarking competition.
This accolade has been awarded for the past six years to mid-sized firms for their
outstanding HR management policies. CAS Software AG was awarded the prestigious Top Job seal of approval
this Friday evening at a ceremony in Duisburg-Nord Industrial Landscape Park. The award was presented by Germany's former economics minister Wolfgang Clement.
On this occasion the mentor of the Top Job initiative will be recognising CAS's achievements
in the categories Leadership & Vision, Motivation & Dynamism, Culture & Communication,
Staff Development & Prospects, Family & Social Awareness, and Internal Entrepreneurship.
The company which is a leading specialist in customer relationship management,
scored particularly well in the Motivation & Dynamism category where it was among the top ten entrants.
The firm's strategic HR management policy makes it an exemplary employer for its workforce of 151.
Flat hierarchies and short information paths ensure communications are direct. Consequently,
the workforce is always kept up to date about the company's financial and strategic performance.
The company, which was established in 1986, sees its role as a training enterprise. Its in-house academy
offers a wide range of professional development schemes, from training courses to conflict management and
specialist software development methods. Employees' high level of motivation is not only a result of the
training and educational resources at their disposal, but also of the encouragement and development opportunities
provided by management. Feedback is provided on a regular basis because CAS Software knows that a purposeful HR
policy with a long-term perspective is a key component in its success.
To qualify for the award, the software house had to undergo a stringent, three-stage process devised by the
Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
In the first stage, the HR experts working under Professor Heike Bruch, the Institute's director, captured
the company's key performance indicators in a questionnaire. The second stage was to conduct a detailed
online staff survey. Finally, the team from St. Gallen reviewed the HR management tools used by the company.
In such a competitive environment, CAS Software is even prouder of its high ranking, as director
Martin Hubschneider confirms, "We are now one of the best SME employers in Germany. This award will make us
even more attractive to highly qualified workers in future."
All 100 Top Job companies are featured in the book published by Bruch and Clement entitled "Top Job –
the 100 best employers in Germany's SME sector". Further details about the companies are presented on the website
at www.topjob.de. The project is organised by compamedia GmbH,
