CAS teamWorks is installed and set up within a short period. Straightforward administration and care allows you to quickly use the Intranet in your company. 

The employees can access the features of CAS teamWorks quite easily through their browser and are thus always currently informed.

Knowledge management

Personal start page

  • with current, important information at one glance
  • Individually adjustable with various elements, e.g. company news, blackboards, my appointments today, my tasks today, current birthdays, on holiday, list of currently missing employees, news ticker, weather, personal favourites…
  • The elements “aggregated view” and “aggregated view on linked data records” display an evaluation or summary of certain data records
  • The element “linked data records” displays the links of a certain data record type for a selected data record type

Blackboards/newsgroups

  • Quick and current publication of information and opinions, company-wide, department, team or project-related
  • Granting of rights for the creation of postings

Document management

  • Structured filing and publication of documents (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet pages, ...) with search and filter possibilities, collective folders …

  • Version management
  • A new component for the evaluation of documents allows users to give documents a commentary and a valuation of 1 to 5 stars. The corresponding document list displays all evaluations clearly.

Tasks management

Appointment administration

  • Company and department dates. Access to released calendars of other employees, groups, departments, resources (such as, for example, meeting rooms or company cars)
  • Overlap warnings with interaction possibilities in case of conflict with other appointments – also those of other participants
  • Presentation of several-day appointments, recurring appointments, confidential appointments (appointment blocked, description of appointments only visible for authorised persons)

Notification and action service

  • Company-wide rule definition which on occurrence of a certain event, automatically executes a corresponding action. Numerous procedures and routine tasks are automated through this.
  • Monitoring of data stock in accordance with freely definable rules and “reaction” in case of new creation or alteration to a data record.
  • The actions to be executed can be set freely.
  • Users can subscribe to the rules for notifications.
  • Check for “Field value is achieved” (e.g. turnover > 10,000 euro)
  • E-Mail recipients can be used from fields of the triggering data record, e.g. for an automatic birthday greeting by email
  • Any desired jubilee can be taken into consideration for the event “Anniversary”.
  • Obligatory notifications are also possible.
  • If a new record is created, the keyword “assemble“, e.g. a task by which the deadline has been exceeded, generates a new task. The text contained in the keyword refers to the original task.
  • Alterations to links can also be monitored.

Administration and individual adjustment

  • Synchronisation of the user accounts of CAS teamWorks with Active Directory Services from Microsoft. This represents an alternative to the already existing NT authenticity. With this connection, users can be imported, taken over and assigned. Mutually required data such as user name and email addresses are taken over.
  • Form fields with multiple selection With fields, several values can be selected, e.g. for the field “Customer for”: Product A, B, C ...
  • Connection to external data sources, e.g. Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Excel. Database tables from other applications can be integrated in CAS teamWorks. With the CAS teamWorks standard components – list and form – access takes place in the portal reading this integrated information.
  • High adaptability with the Management Console, simple structures through multilevel directories, extension to the database possible (tables only with additional module database designer)

  • All open sessions of the clients registered with the application server are displayed in the management console in the field of user management. The administrator can deregister individual users from the application server.

Multilayer administration rights

  • Access to individual modules of the Management Console – e.g. access to the user management or portal management – can be issued selectively for individually selected user/administrators.

Straightforward installation

  • Live update via Internet for server
  • The automatic search for updates can be activated via the Internet in the server manager. Customers are in this manner automatically informed through current hotfixes and service packs which they can download and install on request.

User/rights administration

  • Central, straightforward user and resource administration through the Management Console
  • Role concept Creation of user roles with firmly defined rights
  • Multilevel rights systems on user, data record and field level with different rights such as, for example, read, write, duplicate, delete.
  • Rights issue for directory in the portal: Rights are individually issued for individual directories, e.g. for the directory “Current”. On request, only certain employees in the company will see these directories.
  • Extended filter settings for lists: Field comparisons are possible for filters, e.g. show all tasks by which the due date is greater than the end date.
  • Group rights for employees and resources
  • Client capability, administration/operation of several databases on one server
  • Inverted rights settings in the portal administration; Rights can be restricted to individual pages, e.g. all employees may see the page company news, except for interns

Administration through groups

  • Through the use of hierarchic groups, users can be efficiently organised. Access rights and other rights can be consistently defined on the group level and “bequeathed” to the participants of the groups.
  • Apart from that it is possible to define external access by groups to groups. For example, a resource pool can be simply provided to a group of employees.

Internationalisation

  • Entry of international bank details trough the fields account holder, the international account number IBAN and the international bank code BIC (SWIFT) in the record window of the addresses possible

Clever working

  • Highlighting and deleting of several records in lists possible
  • Well-structured display of data in navigator tabs
  • Configuration of the employee search, e.g. for the search for documents
  • If CAS genesisWorld is also used, several e–mails can be archived
  • The component “Link overview” displays links to data records
  • In the presentation of a portal, the appearance of the menus can be determined by selection of a template

Integrations

  • Together with the e-procurement specialist Onventis, CAS Software has developed the component “Procurement Office” for CAS teamWorks. The integration of Onventis Procurement Office optimises and automates the internal and external procurement processes.
