Introduction

The project workplan is structured according to good practice in software adaptation and introduction of best practices, applying an iterative validation approach, enabling customisation and refinements in the central stage of the project.

The project can be subdivided in three stages:
A start-up and design phase, during which the users requirements, derived from the background of the baseline project, are analysed and the state of the art in ASP based best practices is identified and applied to the underlying business case. Further in this phase, the IT solution for the support of the new business practices is adapted to the scenario’s needs and the ASP hosting environment will be defined.

A best practice stage, during which the users introduce a new approach of working, that is supported by the installed and rolled-out IT environment. Based on activities of the foreseen baseline project, the users test the new approach and evaluate it together with the scientific partner. This stage is characterised by roundtrip engineering, in the sense, that evaluation results will be integrated during the operation into the IT solution and the underlying practises
This best practice approach can also be illustrated as given on the right.
The third stage is the conclusive phase, during which the lessons learnt are packaged into best practice experience documentation, that is disseminated for replication. The plans for economic exploitation of the project’s results are also worked out in this stage and first operative steps are undertaken.
Project management and underlying baseline project span the overall lifecycle of the project.
